  1. KKND VERSION 1.2 PATCH INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  2. ================================================

  4. This version of the patch will only work on English language versions of
  5. KKND.  If your version of KKND is in a different language, you will have
  6. to download the patch for that language version.
  7.  
  8. To update your system to version 1.2 of KKND, follow these instructions:
  9.  
  10. 1. Copy the file KKNDPTCH.EXE into a temporary directory.  Do not run 
  11.    the patch from the KKND directory or from a directory where you will 
  12.    be installing KKND.
  13.  
  14. 2. Run the KKNDPTCH.EXE.  This is a self-extracting zip file. This will
  15.    create these files:
  16.         INSTALL.EXE  
  17.         KILLKKND.BAT 
  18.         KKND.EXE     
  19.         PATCH.EXE    
  20.         README.TXT   
  21.         SUPSPR.LVL   
  22.         UVCONFIG.EXE  
  23.         PROBLEMS.TXT
  24.         VIDEO.TXT
  25.  
  26. 3. Place your KKND CD into the CD drive.  Make sure that the CD doesn't
  27.    autorun (hold down [SHIFT] for about ten seconds after you put the CD in).
  28.  
  29. 4. Run the file PATCH.EXE and follow the onscreen instructions.  This patch
  30.    file will run the KKND installation.  At this point you must re-install 
  31.    KKND.  The updated KKND files will then be copied into the installed 
  32.    directory.

  35. KKND VERSION 1.2 FEATURES

  38. MULTIPLAYER MESSAGE FUNCTION
  39. ----------------------------
  40. To send a message to all the other players in the game press Ctrl-M in a
  41. multiplayer game and type in your message. Enter will send it. ESC will
  42. cancel your message. This works in the game not in the superstructure.

  44. LONG TELEPHONE NUMBERS
  45. ----------------------
  46. KKND version 1.2 now supports telephone numbers up to 13 digits long.

  48. GROUP RECALL FEATURES
  49. ---------------------
  50. When recalling a stored group, pressing [ALT]+# will centre the screen 
  51. on the group.

  53. UNIVBE SUPPORT IMPROVED
  54. -----------------------
  55. KKND Version 1.2 includes improved video support.  The file VIDEO.TXT 
  56. lists all supported video cards.  The file PROBLEMS.TXT lists the video 
  57. cards that are still problematic and suggests solutions for these cards.
  58. This version of KKND fixes the problems with ATI Rage and Rage II video
  59. cards.
